Although this Reply is to your message it's actually intended for all;

First of all, my age is irrelevant... In fact, that picture was taken a number of years ago. If you want to know, I turned 69 the day that point was raised here.

  1. First, select the Composer Window, a Bin, the Timeline or the Capture Tool, then use this shortcut to quickly open the related settings. To open the Trim settings, you must be in Trim Mode AND make sure that the Composer window is active (rather than the Timeline window).
  2. Keyboard shortcuts in Word for Mac. To list all Word commands and keyboard shortcuts, on the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Macros. To use this Office keyboard shortcut, you must first turn off the Mac OS X keyboard shortcut for this key. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.

Most importantly, did any of you bother to read my entire reply from July 27? I have no idea what anyone means by 'dumb as ****' or 'ridiculous' about it.

To re-emphasize the point I made then, the Select Objects tool has not been removed from the program. It simply is not included on the Ribbon & currently cannot be added to it or to the Quick Access Toolbar by the typical user. Further, Office 2016 has, for all intents & purposes, done away with Toolbars. FWIW, it was not a default component of any built-in toolbar in Word 2011, either.

The program provides some Drawing capability as a convenience, but it is first & foremost a word processing program, not graphic design software.

Additionally, it's of no use to make feature requests, product suggestions, etc. here. This is a Community of user-to-user support with virtually no participation by anyone from Microsoft who has the means of implementing changes.
